Ms. Bowers has been a member of the New Mexico State Bar since 1988 and is licensed to practice in all New Mexico State Courts, the United States District Court for the District of New Mexico, the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit and the United States Supreme Court. Ms. Bowers has first chair jury trial experience in both state and federal courts. She has filed appellate briefs in the New Mexico Court of Appeals, New Mexico Supreme Court, Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals and the U.S. Supreme Court. She practices in the areas of insurance defense, personal injury, wrongful death, premises liability, and employment and labor law. She previously served as a Special Assistant Attorney General establishing and enforcing child support orders. Ms. Bowers is also a member of the New Mexico Defense Lawyers Association and the California State Bar.
Ms. Bowers received her Juris Doctorate from the University of California Hastings College of the Law. She has a Master of Arts degree in Government from New Mexico State University where she studied migrant farm worker access to health care. Ms. Bowers also received a Master of Advanced Studies in International Affairs from the University of California at San Diego. She has co-authored peer-reviewed articles in the Journal of Public Administration Research and Theory and the Journal on Migration and Human Security.
Ms. Bowers serves on the New Mexico Public Employees Labor Relations Board and the University of New Mexico Labor Management Relations Board. She regularly volunteers for the Bernalillo County Metropolitan Court Legal Clinic and various New Mexico State Bar pro bono legal fairs.
